Workout Wednesday: 2/27/13

by fitnessregina1 on February 28, 2013

This is space to keep myself on track and accountable for my own workouts. But I also want it to be a place where you can brag about what you’ve accomplished this week. So let’s hear it! What workout did you kill it on this week?

I stayed on track with diet and workouts during the week, but I have to get better at keeping on the diet on the weekends. It’s hard to eat clean while socializing, but I need to get this under control before I get into twelve weeks out from the competition and really start cutting. Luckily I still have a few weeks.

If At First You Do Succeed

Another of my New Year’s Resolutions was to go thrifting. To me this is a way to bring more unique items into my closet as I’m not constrained by what’s currently in stores. I’m already a big fan of “online thrifting” aka eBay and Poshmark, but generally limit myself to brands with consistent sizing. Recently Kate and I went on a wildly successful thrifting adventure and this DVF dress (for $85!) was one of my finds. I can’t wait to go thrifting again and will be doing a massive closet cleaning in preparation, so stay tuned for for a link!

13 Resolutions for 2013

January 15, 2013

Eat Locally – I just finished the Omnivore’s Dilemma and it has reinforced a lot of what I suspected about industrial agriculture, both traditional and organic. Have an Omnivore’s Thanksgiving – In the book above the author assembles a meal that is entirely harvested/foraged locally (he happens to live in NorCal as well) and I’d [...]

What I’m Shopping for – Winter 2012 – Print Cardigan

January 14, 2013

Print Cardigan I had trouble with what to call this, as using the generic terms of  Ethnic or Tribal prints seemed un-PC. While I think the actual prints I’m looking for are Aztec or Navajo, I am not knowledgeable enough to know if these are authentic. That said, my boho side loves pieces that seem [...]

What I’m Shopping for – Winter 2012 – Leather Leggings

January 12, 2013

Leather Leggings I am definitely behind the curve on this trend, but I wasn’t entirely sure that this worked with my body and my style. This winter I’ve been seeing a softer side to this trend, paired with cozy knits as well as a more polished side with clean lined basics. I’m especially loving how [...]

What I’m Shopping for – Winter 2012 – Plaid Cape

January 8, 2013

Plaid Cape It’s been chillier than normal here in the Bay Area. Not cold enough to snow, but enough to make you want to bundle up. I’ve wanted a plaid cape for a few years now, but haven’t been able to find the right one. I love it worn with basic sweaters and jeans or [...]

What I’m Shopping for – Winter 2012 – Sequin Mini

January 6, 2013

Sequin Mini Perfect for holiday parties and girls nights out, but I really want this so that I can wear it with casual, basic sweaters and tees like in the pics above. I’m searching for one in a neutral, likely gold, but I’d also like for it to be a high quality piece that I [...]

What I’m Shopping for – Winter 2012 – Neon Beanie

December 12, 2012

Neon Beanie Growing up in the Northeast, my mother kept a box of all our hats and gloves and every year when the weather turned cold she dug out that old box and we could have our pick of what was left. I dreaded that box. I hated those year old hats  and gloves with their [...]

What I Bought: Fall 2012

November 30, 2012

Following up on my What I’m Shopping For: Fall 2012 series, I thought it would be good to do a round up of what I did (and didn’t) buy this season. What I Bought Pointy Toes  I was pretty excited about this trend, and wanted to make sure I took full advantage. I ended up [...]
